Our transition to Aeries has had many bumps in the road. One of the cool things about Aeries, that we didn't have with Illuminate, is access on our mobile devices. The Aeries Teacher app is free and available on iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android. The app operates virtually the same on either platform.

The Aeries mobile app is great if you don't want to feel tethered to your computer while taking attendance. This is helpful for classroom management. You can circulate the room in the beginning of class and take attendance at the same time.
There is a cool feature called Class Tools that gives you a class roster view with pictures, a random student picker, the ability to create groups in addition to a game that matches names to faces. This game is great when you get new students and is fun way for you to get to know their names. The picture below shows the create group feature.
